Waterline Rehabilitation Project – Phase 1 Updates

The Board of Directors for West Harris County Municipal Utility District No, 9 (WHCMUD 9) would like to update residents as to the planned steps and current updates for Phase 1 of the Waterline Rehabilitation Project.
Summary of Work
Arandas Industries, Inc., contracted by WHCMUD 9, has been working through the following sections as part of the Waterline Rehabilitation Project- Phase 1:
• Winchester Country Trails 3
• Winchester Country Trails 4
• Winchester County Trails 10
During preliminary excavation for this project, the contractor encountered PVC waterlines along Pearl Drive, Minturne Lane, and Crazy Horse Trail (from the southern District boundary to Copperdale Dr). The PVC lines in these locations were deemed to be in good condition, and no replacement was necessary.
Current Progress
The contractor has completed the waterline pipebursting for the following streets as of 12/13/2024:
• Rio Grande Dr
• Dude Road to Copper Dale Drive- Approx. 900LF of Pipe replaced
Scheduled Rehabilitation (End of 2024)
Due to the holidays, the District has decided to avoid invasive digging through the end of the year. The scheduled work will be restoration of the pipebursting along Rio Grande Rd.
• Rio Grande Dr Restoration from 12/16/2024 to 01/02/2025
Scheduled Rehabilitation (January of 2025)
The contractor will ramp up construction in early 2025. The streets that will be impacted are:
• 10406-10602 Dude Rd
• 8946- 8838 Bent Spur Lane
Remaining Rehabilitation (February-March 2025)
The contractor will continue with the pipe bursting for the remainder of Phase 1. We will provide an up-to-date schedule in mid January.
